City of Elk River
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Agenda Section Meeting Date
October 2, 2006

Item Number
INFO

Prepared by
Joan Schmidt, City Clerk
Reviewed by

Item Description
Meetin on November 6, 2006

Information

At the Special Council meeting of September 14, 2006, Council was agreeable to meeting in the
UpperTown Conference Room for the meeting on November 6,2006. This will enable the
election judges to set up the Council Chambers the evening of November 6th for the General
Election the following day.

In discussing with Cable Producer Kristin Thomas the ability to tape this meeting in the
conference room, she stated that it could be done but that the quality will be poor, with the audio
being the biggest factor. She also indicated that tapes are only one hour in length so there would
be missing bits as the tapes are taken out and a new one inserted.

When I brought this to the attention of City Administrator Lori Johnson, she felt that the meeting
should not be taped because of the reasons noted above.

Council Action

Motion by _

Second by _

Vote

Follow Up
