<br />major mechanical and body work, straightening of body parts, painting, welding, storage
<br />of inoperable automobiles, and overhauling of engines.
<br />Motor vehicle service station means a place where gasoline or other automobile engine
<br />fuel stored only in underground tanks, kerosene or motor oil, and lubricants or grease for
<br />operation of motor vehicles are sold directly to the public on the premises, including the
<br />sale of minor accessories and the servicing and minor repair of automobile. Minor repairs
<br />shall include tire servicing and repair, replacement of mufflers with incidental welding,
<br />greasing and lubrication, and minor motor adjustments. Minor repair shall not include
<br />major mechanical and body work, painting, welding, storage of inoperable vehicles, or
<br />overhauling of engines.
<br />Motor vehicle specialty service station means a place where gasoline or other automobile
<br />engine fuel sales are prohibited. Lubricants for the operation of motor vehicles may be
<br />sold directly to the public. Specialty stations are intended for the sale of minor
<br />accessories and minor repairs for automobiles and small trucks. It is intended that
<br />specialty stations shall specialize in one or two allowed uses and not generalize in all
<br />allowed uses. Minor repair shall include tire servicing and repairs, replacement of
<br />mufflers, greasing and lubrication, minor motor adjustments, transmission services, brake
<br />repairs, and auto glass replacement. Minor repairs shall not include mechanical and body
<br />work, painting, welding, storage of inoperable vehicles, outside storage of overhauling
<br />engmes.
<br />Multiple-family dwelling means a dwelling or portion thereof containing two or more
<br />dwelling units.
<br />Municipal sewage system means the existing city sanitary system, as expanded,
<br />including collection and treatment facilities established by the subdivider to serve the
<br />subdivision.
<br />Mural means a graphic design or decorative image not designed or intended for
<br />advertising purposes, which is painted directly on an exterior wall surface.
<br />Nameplate means a nonelectric on-premises identification sign giving only the name and
<br />address of an occupant or group of occupants.
<br />Natural waterway means a natural passageway in the surface of the earth so situated and
<br />having such a topographical nature that surface or percolating water flows through it
<br />from other areas before reaching a final ponding area.
<br />Nonconforming sign means any sign which lawfully existed prior to June 18, 1990, the
<br />date of adoption of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, but does not
<br />conform to the requirements of article VI, division 5, subdivision II, of this chapter.
<br />Nonconforming use, as used in article VI, division 13, of this chapter, means the use of a
<br />structure or land, or both, lawfully in existence on the effective date of the ordinance
<br />from which article VI, division 13, ofthis chapter is derived which does not conform to
<br />the requirements applicable thereto contained in article VI, division 13, of this chapter or
<br />which does not conform to provisions of article VI, division 13, of this chapter as
<br />subsequently amended.
<br />Nonconforming use, as used in article VI ofthis chapter, means the use of a structure or
<br />land, or both, lawfully in existence on September 4, 1980, which does not conform to the
<br />requirements applicable thereto contained in article VI of this chapter, or which does not
<br />conform to provisions of article VI of this chapter as subsequently amended.
