<br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 06 - <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO COMMIT LOCAL REVENUES <br />TO MATCH SAFETEA-LU FUNDS FOR 193RD AVENUE <br /> <br />the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnD01) established eight Area <br />Transportation Partnerships throughout the State of Minnesota to develop prioritized lists <br />of transportation projects seeking federal funding under Safe, Accountable, Flexible, <br />Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) for inclusion in <br />the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP); and <br /> <br />the Central Minnesota Area Transportation Partnership (A TP) prioritizes projects seeking <br />SAFETEA-LU funding in the Counties of Benton, Cass, Crow Wing, Isanti, Kanabec, <br />Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, Stems, Todd, Wadena, and Wright; and is currently <br />finalizing the completion of its 2007-2010 Area Transportation Improvement Program <br />(ATIP) that becomes a subset of the 2007-2010 STIP; and <br /> <br />Region 7W Transportation Policy Board (fPB), representing the Counties of Benton, <br />Sherburne,..Steams and Wright supports the ATP in the execution of its responsibilities by <br />soliciting and selecting projects in Region 7W and recommending them for inclusion in <br />theATP's DraftATIP; and <br /> <br />the ATP grants regions the authority to reduce the federal SAFETEA-LU amount <br />requested by applicants in order to maximize limited federal funds and leverage local <br />resources to address the transportation needs of each region; and <br /> <br />Region 7W TPB recommended the A TP program federal funds in the amount of <br />$996,000 in year 2010 of its 2007-2010 ATIP for construction of new road segment of <br />MSAS 104 from 193red Avenue/Xavier Street to 0.65 mile east to Twin Lakes <br />Road/Sherburne County State Aid Highway 13 submitted by the Gty of Elk River; and <br /> <br />each agency must acknowledge the amount of federal funds recommended by the Region <br />7W TPB and commit the necessary- local funding to match the SAFETEA-LU funds <br />requested, as well as any other funding that may be necessary- to complete the project as <br />proposed in its application; and <br /> <br />Gty of Elk River acknowledges the $996,000 in federal SAFETEA-LU federal funds that <br />is being recommended by the ATP for construction of new road segment from 193rd <br />Avenue/Xavier Street to 0.65 mile east to Twin Lakes Road/Sherburne County State Aid <br />Highway 13 and understands that a minimum local fmancial match of $249,000 will be <br />necessary- based on the present cost estimate to fully implement the project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Gty Council of the Gty of Elk River, Minnesota: <br /> <br />The Gty of Elk River agrees to commit the necessary- local revenues to match the SAFETEA-LU <br />funds approved by A TP and included in the STIP and to cover any other costs that may be necessary- <br />to complete the project as submitted. <br />
