<br />The only possible reason you are even considering a variance is to <br />pad the city coffers. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Let's be more forward looking. The decision you make concerning the <br />gravel mining expansion will, no doubt, affect what Elk River is to <br />become. Much of the land in question is designated for single family <br />dwellings. Don't you think that forested lots will draw nicer homes <br />and therefore more taxes? Just compare the taxes of the Ridgewood <br />and Brentwood residents with the residents who live on reclaimed - <br />reforested fields. <br /> <br />You have a difficult decision to make.
