e

e

e

1994...The City Council could eliminate the Personnel/
Administrative Assistant position...The City could increase its
revenues generated by growth activities in the Building and
Planning areas (The 1993 revenues exceed the proposed 1994
amounts. We will want to be careful in this regard as these
revenues fluctuate and we do not want to become too dependent
on this source of funds. Additionally, we may need these
revenue sources to exceed budget projections because if
activity is high, the Council may see a need to hire another
housing inspector that currently is not programmed into the
budget.}...The softball revenue that pays for the softball
lights and improvements which the City has already financed is
not required to be transferred into the Park reserve and this
line item could be removed...and, finally, part or all of the
police radio purchase could be financed from the City Hall
reserve.

Two items that were discussed at the 12/8/93 budget public
hearing were the Fire Department self contained breathing
apparatus (SCBA) purchase for $24,000 and the
Personnel/Administrative Assistant position. Please see the
attached memo from the Fire Chief on the SCBA purchase and the
attached memo from myself on the Personnel/Administrative
Assistant position.
