Levine
Mr. Pat Klaers
December 8, 1993
Page 3

In summary, the District believes the T.H. 169 corridor must be protected.
Enhancements at existing intersections should be considered as development
occurs adjacent to the highway. Satisfactory principal arterial operation
can be maintained without creating additional accesses from the trunk highway.
The District is willing to work with the City to discuss short term as well
as long range planning as it pertains to a transportation system in the Elk
River community. The transportation system in the Elk River area has benefited
from the close cooperation and good working relationship between the City of
Elk River and District 3. We look forward to working with the City in addressing
future transportation issues in a locality that is expected to grow at one
of the highest rates in the State.

S:;;;f.<9~

Anthony J.
