Currently there are three polling <br />locations in the City; Meadowvale School, Elk River Area Senior <br />High School and Lincoln School. Staff is proposing to add City <br />Hall as a polling place so that residents from each ward will <br />vote at a separate polling location that is located in their <br />ward. <br /> <br />WARD 1 - 1,847 registered voters - Elk River City Hall <br />WARD 2 - 2,105 registered voters - Meadowvale Elem. School <br />WARD 3 - 1,955 registered voters - Elk River Area Senior High <br />WARD 4 - 1,976 registered voters - Lincoln School <br /> <br />Polling location changes <br />resolution describing the <br />enclosed with this memo. <br /> <br />must be <br />proposed <br /> <br />done by <br />polling <br /> <br />resolution. <br />locations <br /> <br />A <br />is <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> <br />1 . <br /> <br />Adopt ordinance amending Section 300.00 of the City Code <br />which redefines the existing ward lines to show the <br />elimination of precincts. <br /> <br />2. Adopt a resolution which determines the polling places in <br />the City. <br /> <br />(This should be done by two separate motions) <br />
