<br />INFORMATION <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT <br />TO APPROVE <br />SHERBURNE COUNTY'S SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />(UPDATE) <br /> <br />Sherburne County has prepared a solid waste management plan update proposing a <br />waste management system that would result, by the year 2002, in 34.percent <br />recycling and yard waste composting and 58 percent resource recovery through <br />municipal'waste composting and incineration. It is expected that 22 perce~t of <br />waste generated will be landfilled as bypass, residuals, and ash from resource <br />recovery. An estimated 5 percent of waste is expected to be disposed on site. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Minn. Rules pt. 9215.0850, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />(MPCA) hereby gives notice of its intent. to approve the county's update. The <br />MPCA's plan approval would terminate five years after the date of approval. <br />The update contains the information needed to issue a certificate of need for <br />land disposal. Comments must be received by the MPCA at its above address by 4:30 <br />p.m. on October 29, 1993. Pursuant to Minn. Rules pt. 9215.0850, subp. 3, <br />comments must include the following information: (1) a statement of the <br />commenter's interest in the update; (2) a statement of the action the commenter <br />wishes the MPCA to take, including specific references to the parts of the <br />update or the need calculation that the commenter believes should be changed; <br />and (3) the reasons supporting the commenter's position, stated with sufficient <br />specificity to allow. the MPCA to access the merits of the commenter's <br />statements. <br />
