CU-93-30 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Vernon Draxler is requesting a conditional use permit to <br />construct a detached accessory building exceeding 1,000 square <br />feet in size. The total square footage of the structure will <br />be 1,176 square feet in size. The building will be located at <br />13416 Islandview Drive, Elk River, MN. A complete legal <br />description is available at City Hall. The memo to the <br />Planning Commission explaining the request in detail is <br />attached to this memo. <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The proposed garage would be 28' x 42' (1,176 square feet) and <br />located on the lot meeting all R-1b setback requirements. The <br />accessory structure will be made of wood lap siding to match <br />the existing home. Mr. Draxler has indicated he will use the <br />shed to store his band equipment and other personal items. He <br />has also requested to have a small hobby type woodworking shop <br />in one corner. There were no residents in the audience <br />opposing the request. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The Planning Commission unanimously recommended <br />conditional use permit for Vernon Draxler <br />square foot detached accessory building in <br />district with the following condition: <br /> <br />approval of the <br />allowing a 1,176 <br />an R-1b zoning <br /> <br />1.
