Zerwas, Chief of pOlice--~ . <br />September 30, 1993 <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />Police Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />This is to inform the City Council that we have almost completed <br />the selection process for the positions of police officer. The <br />selection process consisted of a written examination, a report <br />writing test, a physical agility test, a background investigation, <br />a psychological evaluation, and a medical examination. <br /> <br />The top two (2) candidates <br />and, Linda Ellingworth, <br />information that we have <br />selection process seems <br />officers. <br /> <br />are Daniel Block from Anoka, Minnesota; <br />also from Anoka, Minnesota. The <br />as how they did on all phases of the <br />to indicate they will be excellent <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />I am, therefore, requesting authorization to hire both candidates <br />as full-time police officers effective the week of October 18, <br />1993. The appointment of the candidates would be contingent upon <br />them successfully passing their psychological and medical <br />examination. <br /> <br />If both candidates are authorized, they will have to successfully <br />complete a three (3) month Field Training Officer (FTO) Program <br />with experienced officers before they are allowed to work alone as <br />an Elk River Police Officer.
