As indicated at the City Council meeting, this improvement consists of a large
diameter storm sewer line which flows easterly along 191st Avenue from the Poppen rear yard over
to Vance Street. From there, the storm sewer would flow southerly into the Royal Oaks development.
This alignment would bypass the existing storm sewer between Deerfield 3rd and Royal Oaks, and flow
directly into the wetland at the southeast corner of Royal Oaks.

Attached is a resolution approving the plans and specifications and ordering the advertisement for bids.
Concurrently with the bidding process, we will beworking with the property owners in the Royal Oaks
addition to obtain any necessary drainage easements to convey this water all the way to the wetlands
at the southeast corner of the plat. It is our intent to bid this project yet this fall but to allow the
contractor enough time such that, weather permitting, construction can be completed in 1993 or an
extension granted for completion in the spring of 1994. This is in an effort to keep the construction
price from escalating due to the potential for midwinter construction activities should we have bad
weather this fall. We would recommend that the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing
the project to proceed.

If you have any questions, I will be in attendance at your September 27, 1993, City Council meeting.

Sincerely,

MAIER STEWART & ASSOCIATES, INC.

~p;;r~

T~urer.
