It was the City's intention <br />to assess the abutting property owners for the storm drainage and street improvements. At the <br />public hearing, it was proposed to assess storm drainage at $8.00 per front foot and street at <br />$22.00 per front foot. It was also indicated at the public hearing that no assessment would be <br />levied for sanitary sewer or water main improvements. If a homeowner chooses to hook up to <br />the sanitary sewer and/or watermain, those assessments would be levied at that time. Otherwise, <br />no utility assessments would be levied until such time as the entire subdivision received sewer <br />and water improvements. <br /> <br />In order to initiate the assessment process for the street and storm drainage portion of the <br />improvements, the City Council needs to consider a resolution establishing the amount to be <br />assessed and authorizing the preparation of the assessment roll. We have prepared the attached <br />draft resolution for the Council's consideration.
