It is anticipated <br />will be in attendance at the <br />to facilitate the discussion on <br /> <br />The following comments are offered to help the City Council <br />consider all the issues involved in staff additions and <br />personnel priorities. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Street/Park Department <br />Maintenance employees are needed on an ongoing basis. <br />- The City should plan to hire most new maintenance <br />employees under the laborer title and the pay for this <br />position in 1993 began at $7.21 per hour. <br />- If no new maintenance employees are hired for 1994, then <br />the City should plan on more paid summer help for Phil and <br />his crew beginning in 1994. <br />- The City Council should plan on adding one new maintenance <br />employee in 1995, 1997, and 1999, at a minimum. <br /> <br />These comments coincide closely to the memo from Phil. <br /> <br />Police Department <br />Police Patrol Officers are needed on an ongoing basis. <br />- As more officers are hired and more work undertaken and <br />accomplished, then more clerical help is needed. <br />- As the City grows, more non-uniformed assistance and help <br />is also needed (CSO's). <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />- 1994 One Patrol Officer and D.A.R.E. Officer (financed <br />by the fundraising efforts) and an extra 10 hours/week for <br />the CSO are needed. <br />- 1995 - One clerical position. <br />- 1996 - Two Patrol Officers (one existing officer is likely <br />to be promoted to an investigative and/or supervisory <br />position) . <br />- 1997 - One clerical position and/or one CSO position. <br />- 1998 - Two Patrol Officers. <br />- 1999 - Zero additions. <br />- 2000 Two Patrol Officers (one promotion within) and one <br />clerical position. <br /> <br />These comments vary slightly from the requests and comments <br />within Tom's memo. <br /> <br />P.O.
