Box 490 <br />13065 Orono Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br /> <br />RE: SCHOOL STREET/JACKSON A VENUE INTERSECTION <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Klaers: <br /> <br />Today we received a call from Mr. Mike Tardy, District 3 State Aid Engineer, regarding our <br />proposed improvements at the intersection of School Street and Jackson Avenue. Mr. Tardy has <br />reviewed our preliminary submittal regarding the signalization and geometric improvements to <br />this intersection. After his review, he has approved the use of turnback funds for the Jackson <br />Avenue improvements and 50% of the signalization costs. We would anticipate that Municipal <br />State Aid dollars would be used for the School Street portion of this project. Given this <br />approval, the City is now authorized to move forward with detailed plans and specifications for <br />MnDOT review. <br /> <br />Attached for the City Council's consideration is a draft resolution authorizing the preparation of <br />plans and specifications.
