The labor day column represents one employee
for one eight hour day. Twelve labor days could be a six
person crew for 2 days or a four person crew for 3 days. The
intent is to give the Council an accurate estimate of the size
of these projects and the staff time needed for completion. I
would ask that the City Council consider some sort of priority
for these projects, bearing in mind that there will be some
lost time due to weather and also a few projects that are not
scheduled will demand some time. Employee vacations usually
come during this time period too.

.

I plan to reserve the month of August for bituminous overlays
and in-house seal coating because the weather is more favorable
than September or October. The fall months will be dedicated
to work on the Woodland Trails park under the grant we received
and, if we are successful with the ISTEA application, we will
have to start work on the railroad trail. As you can see, the
Street/Park Department has a full schedule for the coming
season and I would appreciate Council input on prioritizing.

.

P.O.
