The chaonel of the watercourse. the bed of water basins, and those portions or <br />the adjoining floodplains that are reasonably required to eany and discharlc floodwater and <br />provide water storage during a regional flood. <br /> <br />4.7 Hvdric soils. Soils that are saturated, flooded. or ponded long enough during the growing <br />season to develop anaerobic: conditions in lhe upper part. <br /> <br />4.8 Hvdrophvtic ve~etatiott. Lands transitional between terrestrial and aquatic systems where tbe water table <br />is usually at or near the surCace or the land is covered by shallow water.
