EA W Guidelines will be available in Spring <br />1999 at the web site. The Environmental Assessment Worksheet provides information about a project that may have the <br />potential for significant environmental effects. The EA W is prepared by the Responsible Governmental Unit or its agents <br />to detennine whether an Environmental Impact Statement should be prepared. The project proposer must supply any <br />reasonably accessible data for - but should not complete - the fmal worksheet. If a complete answer does not fit in the <br />space allotted, attach additional sheets as necessary. The complete question as well as the answer must be included if the <br />EA W is prepared electronically. <br />Note to reviewers: Comments must be submitted to the RGU during the 30-day comment period follmving <br />notice of the EA W in the EQB Monitor. Comments should address the accuracy and completeness of <br />infonnation, potential impacts that warrant further investigation and the need for an EIS. <br /> <br />1. Provide a project summary of 50 words or less to be published in the EQB Monitor, <br /> <br />The proposed project is a 444-unit (1/4 - 1/2 acre average lot size) single family residential <br />development, City Park and proposed school site on 260 acres in Sherburne County, City of Elk <br />River, Minnesota. The proposed development ,viII be served ,"'ith municipal "'later, sanitary and <br />storm sew'ers, street and utilities typical of an urban setting. <br /> <br />b. Give a complete description of the proposed project and related ne\\.' construction. Attach additional <br />sheets as necessary. Emphasize construction, operation methods and features that 'Nill cause physical <br />manipulation of the environment or \\1.11 produce \vastes. Include modifications to existing equipment or <br />industrial processes and significant demolition, removal or remodeling of existing structures. Indicate the <br />ti~ng and duration of construction activities. <br /> <br />The project is a proposed single family residential subdivision located on 260 acres consisting of 444 <br />lots. The average lot size is greater than 11,000 square feet. The development will be served ",'ith <br />public streets and utilities. Construction will consist of site grading, sanitary sewer, watermain, <br />storm se,"'er, streets, natural gas, telephone, electrical, cable television services. Wetland filling ,,'ill <br />be required as part of this project. Total site grading "viII move 500,000 cubic yards of soil. The <br />existing land use is agricultural ,Yith rOt" crop production as the prime use. Topography is <br />characterized as rolling.
