Staff is ordering ne\v park entrance signs and needs a name for the <br />property. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NYSTROM AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER ANDERSON TO RECOMMEND TO COUNCIL THE NAME <br />ALBA RIDGE PARK. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />S.3.C. Trail Plan Update and Revision <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill IvIaertz shared updates and revisions to the trail plan. <br /> <br />COll11n1ssioner Niziolek stated he is concerned about the legality of putting trails next to <br />ditches on the eastern half of the city. Not kno\Vmg \vhat the future holds there are a <br />significant amount of trails planned and \vould not \vant to see it not happen because of <br />poor planning. <br /> <br />I\1r. 1:vIaertz stated that staff can take a look at \vhat other counties and cities are doing in the <br />area ho\vever City Council \vould like an updated plan to \vork \vith \vhen making decisions <br />regarding future developlnent. <br /> <br />Commissioner ..L\nderson asked if d1ere \vould be any harm in leaving the plan as is regarding <br />the County Road 1 trail and if it can be changed in the future \vhen needed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Niziolek stated concern over there needing to be a pedestrian crossing near <br />the gravel pit area and \vould like to see a snap shot plan of \vhat surrounding corrununities <br />are doing and ho\v \ve connect to them. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER ANDERSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PETERSON TO ACCEPT THE UPDATED TRAIL PLAN <br />CONTINGENT UPON SUGGESTED CHANGES BEING INCORPORATED <br />INTO PLAN. Discussion Items - Dog Regulations: Education and Enforcement <br /> <br />Director oEParks and Recreation, Bill IvIaertz asked dle commission members for ideas on <br />ho\v to educate and enforce the cities dog regulations. <br /> <br />Commissioner i\nderson stated he had been approached by concerned citizens asking for <br />additional signage and educational enforcement regarding dog regulations. <br /> <br />Chair Polston-Hark suggested putting the information in tlle city ne\vsletter to refresh <br />peoples memories about the regulations. <br /> <br />{vir. I:v1aertz stated he \vould have it put in the cities ne\vsletter and the Parks and Recreation <br />Program Guide. <br />
