Development -- Develop and implement landfill abatement <br />program including curbside recycling, yard waste removal and <br />drop-off sites. Develop public information and educational <br />material for landfill abatement program. <br /> <br />Coordination -- Coordinate various environmental education <br />efforts within the City. <br /> <br />Planning -- Responsible for solid and hazardous waste <br />planning/compliance work. EAW/EIS project involvement and <br />review. <br /> <br />Liaison -- Act as liaison for City with regulatory bodies, <br />developers, and project personnel. <br /> <br />Complaints -- Initiate investigation and legal action on <br />nuisance and pollution complaints filed with the City. <br /> <br />Zoning Assistance/Environmental Officer -- Assist Zoning <br />Administrator in enforcement of City Solid Waste Ordinance <br />and Zoning Or.dinance. This includes, but is not limited to, <br />assisting in waste site monitoring/evaluation work. <br />periodically review and process zoning applications and <br />present recommendations for approval or denial to the <br />Planning Commissioner and/or City Council. <br /> <br />7.) Other -- The duties and responsibilities enumerated above are <br />not intended to be all inclusive and may be expanded to <br />include other duties or responsibilities that the City of Elk <br />River may deem necessary from time to time. <br /> <br />Oualifications <br /> <br />1.) Education -- College degree in an environmental discipline. <br />2.)
