<br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />PHIL HALS, STREET/PARK SUP~ <br />MARCH 4, 1993 <br />PARK AND RECREATION RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />The following items were considered by the Park and Recreation <br />Commission and recommended for the City Council: <br /> <br />Consider Field Maintenance Vehicle for Summer <br /> <br />Recreation Fields: Commissioner Joe St. Dennis moved to <br />recommend to the City Council that they commit $1,500 from the <br />Park Capital Equipment fund for the Street/Park Department to <br />buy the components to retrofit a golf cart vehicle with a new <br />engine, drive line and paint striping equipment. Commissioner <br />Rohlf Anderson seconded the motion. The motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Consider Plant A Tree Day <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dana And~rson moved that the Park and Recreation <br />Commission endorse the idea of items 1, 2, and 3 with Winnetka <br />Tree Farms and with the recommendation that the City Council <br />consider item 4 with restrictions of two trees per property <br />owner and a maximum of $2,500 in City reimbursements for 1993 <br />tree plantings. The trees would have to 1 1/2" trunk diameter <br />or larger, planted more than 10' but less than 20' from the <br />curb line, be of an approved species, and the trees do not have <br />to come from a specific nursery. Commissioner Clair Olson <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Location of Water Treatment Building <br /> <br />Commissioner Clete Lipetsky moved to recommend to the City <br />Council that the water treatment building be located as near <br />the water tower as possible (see Maier Stewart 2/19/92 fax <br />copy, page 2).
