<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />BYLAWS OF THE <br />ELK RIVER FIREMAN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />ARTICLE 1 <br />MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br />section 1. Any regular active member of the Elk River Fire <br />Department who is under 35 years of age shall be eligible for <br />membership in this association. <br /> <br />section 2. Resignation from the Elk River Fire Department or <br />moving from (the vicinity of) Elk River to take up residence <br />elsewhere, shall terminate the membership of the member so <br />resigning, expelled or removing; provided , however, that any <br />member who has served for at least the minimum number of years <br />required by Article VIII of these bylaws for vesting of pension <br />rights as an active member of the Elk River Fire Department shall <br />retain membership in this association, regardless of resignation, <br />expulsion or removal, subject to paYment of dues and such other <br />regulations which may be from time to time imposed. <br /> <br />Section 3. Each member shall pay to the association annual <br />dues of $1.00 payable on or before the date of the annual meeting <br />of each year. <br /> <br />Section 4. Any member who shall, in the oplnlon of a majority <br />of the board of trustees, fraudulently claim benefits from, or <br />defraud or attempt to defraud the association in any way, shall be <br />suspended from membership by the board, and shall forfeit all <br />further rights to benefits from the association. <br /> <br />Section 5. Any suspended member can only be reinstated upon <br />his application therefor in writing, presented at a regular or <br />special meeting of the association, accompanied by a sum of money <br />equal to what he would have been required to pay to the association <br />during the period of suspension had he not been suspended, plus a <br />reinstatement fee of $1.00 upon the favorable vote of 2/3 of the <br />members present and voting at such meeting. If the application for <br />reinstatement is rejected, the money accompanying the same shall be <br />returned to the applicant. <br /> <br />ARTICLE II <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> <br />Section 1. The board of trustees shall be composed of the <br />following: a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, <br />and two general trustees, each of whom shall be elected for a term <br />as specified in this Article, or until his successor has been <br />elected an qualified, at the annual meeting of the association from <br />its members, and the statutory ex officio trustees; the Chief of <br />the Elk River Fire Department, the Mayor and the Financial Direct9r <br />of the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />1 <br />
