Garbaqe Appeal Board <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Garbage Appeal Board is composed of five members. The <br />Recycling Coordinator, Gary Schmitz, and myself are the staff <br />members!on this Board. Madalyn Moos and Cindy Olson are the <br />citizen representatives on this Board. John Dietz was the City <br />Council representative on this Board in 1992, and Roger <br />Holmgren was the Council representative on this Board in 1991. <br />There are no pending appeals for the garbage collection system, <br />but the Board typically reviews a few requests each year. At <br />this meeting it is appropriate for the City Council to appoint <br />its representative to the Garbage Appeal Board. It is assumed <br />that the staff and citizen members on this Board will remain <br />the same. <br /> <br />8.3. Assistant Weed !nspector <br /> <br />The Mayor of the City is the City Weed Inspector. By function, <br />Phil Hals and his crew do all of the actual weed inspection <br />work. Phil and a few of his crew members annually attend the <br />weed inspector workshops in order to keep up to date on current <br />rules and regulatiops regarding weeds. At this meeting it is <br />appropriate for the Mayor to appoint Street/Park <br />Superintendent, Phil Hals, as the Assistant Weed Inspector. <br />This appointment by the Mayor is subject to City Council <br />approval. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8.4. HRA Reappointment <br /> <br />The City has finally gotten all of the HRA appointments in <br />order so that one of the five members term is up each year. <br />Dick Hinkle was reappointed for about five months in earlier <br />1992 in order to get the HRA on this cycle. In a recent <br />conversation with Dick Hinkle, he has indicated that he would <br />be pleased to serve another five year term on the HRA if this <br />is the desire of the City Council. At this meeting it is <br />appropriate to reappoint Dick to a five year term on the HRA or <br />to decide to seek applications for this position.
