Discuss Status of Strateqic Planninq for Economic Development <br /> <br />Update by Paul Steinman. Staff will identify criteria for each of the 8 sites <br />proposed for industrial/business park development. A action plan including <br />phasing will be developed for each of the sites. <br /> <br />7. Call Soecial Meetino of EDA <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EDA FOR <br />JANUARY 21,1997,3 .. 6 P.M., FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING DISCUSSION OF <br />STRATEGIC PLANNING. COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 7..0. <br /> <br />8. .Prospect Report/Activity Update <br /> <br />Paul distributed copies of the newly-formatted monthly prospect and activity <br />reports to the EDA. Paul noted staff will be providing these monthly prospect and <br />activity reports to the EDA, HRA and full City Council. <br /> <br />9. Other Business <br /> <br />o. Product Review <br />Paul noted a product review meeting with a potential business incubator <br />prospect has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 1997, at 6:30 <br />p.m. at the new Furniture and Things site. The company plans to market <br />computer-oriented testing equipment. This company will be appearing <br />before the Anoka Sherburne County Capital Fund at 3:00 the same day. <br /> <br />b. Business Incubator Prospect <br /> <br />Paul noted this prospect is not prepared to meet publicly regarding his <br />product at this time. Paul will be contacting members of the EDA to <br />meet individually for a product presentation. <br /> <br />c. Micro Loan Request <br />A request for $50,000 in micro loan funds has been received from Eastey <br />Enterprises which will be reviewed by the Finance Committee on <br />Thursday, January 23rd. The company manufactures shrink rap machines <br />and expects to have 25-40 full-time employees in the next 1-2 years. <br /> <br />9. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER BENDER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br />MEETING. COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 7 -0. <br />
