<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />December 11, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER MOTIN MOVED TO APPROVE THE AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT FOR <br />DEED BY AND BETWEEN LEROY AND RUTH BROWN AND THE ECONMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER AS ATTACHED. <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />ProTech Micro Loan <br /> <br />Marc Nevinski indicated that the Bank of Elk River is requesting that the EDA <br />subordinate its first position on ProTech Engineering's accounts receivable as <br />collateral on a $25,000 line of credit. Mark reviewed the background on the issue. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER GONGOLL MOVED TO APPROVE THE REQUEST BY THE BANK OF ELK <br />RIVER TO SUBORDINATE ITS FIRST POSITION ON PROTECH ENGINEERING'S <br />ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE. COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />7. Strateaic Industrial Marketina Plan Uodate <br /> <br />7.1. Advertisina/Promotions Camoaian <br /> <br />Marc Nevinski stated that staff has been working on finalizing the 2001 <br />advertising/promotional campaign. Ads will run in the Twin Cities Business <br />Monthly, Job Shop Technology, the Minnesota Real Estate Journal and its <br />quarterly Leasing Guide. Concepts for the ads include access to venture <br />capital. doing business in the city of Elk River, and access to labor. <br /> <br />7.2. <br /> <br />Marketina Aareements/Kev Accounts <br /> <br />Marc Nevinski reviewed the projects that staff has been working on from <br />the Strategic Marketing Plan. He noted that staff has been working with <br />property owners in the west business park. <br /> <br />Marc indicated that the Strategic Marketing Plan includes establishing a <br />relationship with key accounts. He noted that the purpose of establishing <br />a relationship with key decision-makers is to enhance the city's credibility <br />as a player in the economic development field. Marc indicated that staff <br />has been in contact with United Properties and Kraus-Anderson. He noted <br />that staff would continue to build relationships with the top 10 key <br />accounts. <br /> <br />7.3. <br /> <br />Customer Service/Brandina Process <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers updated the EDA on the progress that has <br />taken place with the Customer Service/Branding process of the Industrial <br />Marketing Plan. He noted that progress has been made on the Customer <br />Service project. He indicated that the staff committee has met on three <br />occasions with the consultant to work on the customer service project <br />with the meetings emphasizing industrial prospects and clients. The City <br />Administrator also updated the EDA on the progress that has taken place <br />with the Branding Committee. He explained that the consultant is working <br />with the committee to help the city establish communication standards <br />
