She stated that the cost for the sign is <br />$1,500, which includes installation. She informed the EDA that staff is suggesting <br />that the cost be divided in thirds between the Riverfront Committee, the EDA, <br />and the Street/Park Department. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE PAYMENT FOR THE HISTORIC <br />DOWNTOWN SIGN OF $1,500, INCLUDING INSTALLATION, TO BE INSTALLED IN <br />JACKSON SQUARE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />. ONE THIRD BY THE RIVERFRONT COMMITTEE <br />. ONE THIRD BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />· ONE THIRD STREET/PARK DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DWYER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />6. Consider Sustainable City Showcase Application.. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson informed the EDA that the Sustainable <br />City Showcase application has been submitted and that the selection will be <br />made sometime in July. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Update on T L Feeding <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Director of Economic Development Paul Steinman informed the EDA that T L <br />Feeding has decided to lease space in Osseo and therefore, will not be locating <br />in Elk River at the present time. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman indicated that the EDA should approach E & 0 Tool and see if <br />they are still interested in relocating. Paul Steinman indicated that he would <br />continue discussions with E & 0 Tool regarding location. <br /> <br />8. Check Reaister <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHECK REGISTER. <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN SeCONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />9.1 . Executive Director <br /> <br />PRESIDENT GONGOLL MOVED TO APPOINT PAUL STEINMAN AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />Commissioner Duitsman requesed that a meeting of the Economic Development <br />Task Force be held to discuss future plans for the City of Elk River. He indicated <br />that the Task Force consisted of the EDA. City Council. HRA, Chamber members <br />and, bank presidents. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN MOVED TO SEND A LETTER TO THE CHAMBER OF <br />COMMERCE, BANK PRESIDENTS, HRA, EDA, AND CITY COUNCIL, TO INVITE THEM TO <br />
