THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />e. Consider Committee Aooointmentsl Assianments <br /> <br />Executive Director Bill Rubin indicated that past practice has been to <br />reappoint the same persons to the Finance, Marketing, and Research and <br />Development Committees. He further indicated that at the EDA's 1995 <br />annual meeting, the Commissioners agreed to advertise committee <br />appointments in an effort to solicit and recruit new volunteers. Bill Rubin <br />informed the EDA that advertising for committee members took place in <br />the Star News and in The Current newsletter and stated that the efforts <br />resulted in one prospective applicant for a committee appointment. He <br />stated that the applicant has indicated his interest in serving on the <br />Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holmgren stated he felt it would be appropriate to have an <br />EDA Commissioner on the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPOINT COMMISSIONER BENDER <br />TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE. COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO INCLUDE <br />THAT AN EDA COMMISSIONER BE APPOINTED AS A SIXTH MEMBER OF THE <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN <br />SECONDED THE AMENDMENT. THE AMENDMENT WAS APPROVED 7-0. <br />
