MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />8.4.A. Discussion Items - Joint Council/Park Commission Workshop <br /> <br />8A.B. <br /> <br />9. LA. <br /> <br />9.2.A. <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared that a joint Parks and Recreation <br />Commission/City Council workshop is set for Monday, April 10th at 6:30pm. The City <br />Administrator has requested that an agenda of items be created prior to the workshop. <br /> <br />Commissioner Niziolek suggested long term funding for future parks to be able to follow <br />the designed park scheme. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kuester suggested discussing a possible referendum. <br /> <br />Commissioner Paige suggested reviewing and updating the master trail plan. <br /> <br />Discussion Items - Natural Resources Inventory Task Force <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared an update regarding three staff <br />recommendations. First, wetland buffer ordinance is in an agreeable form to all parties and <br />should be submitted to the Planning Commission and City Council. Second, transfer of <br />development rights program and the tree preservation ordinance will be discussed further to <br />clear up questions. <br /> <br />Land Use Cases - None <br /> <br />Park/Trail Development -CR 33 Tunnel/Great Northern Trail <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared that the City Council approved the <br />pedestrian tunnel for under CR 33 to be paid for from the Park Dedication Fund. <br /> <br />9.2.B Woodland Trail Grant <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared that staff would like to apply for a grant <br />through the DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant Program that is due March 2006 and if <br />awarded, would be for a total of 36 acres. Total cost of the project is 900,000. 225,000 from <br />Park Dedication Fund, 175,000 from DNR Metro Greenways Grant, 200,000 from DNR <br />Scenic and Natural Areas Grant and 300,000 from DNR Remediation Fund Grant. <br /> <br />10.1. Update February 21 2006 City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared that the contract to purchase Pinewood <br />golf course was not ready and only discussion took place, no vote was taken. <br />
