<br />Draft <br /> <br />Library Board Meeting <br />April 25, 2006 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm. <br /> <br />Mick Stoffers, Karen Stelk, Ann Schroeder, John Dietz, Mike Hangaard, Allison Olson and <br />Donna Martin were in attendance. <br /> <br />Joan Allen from GRRL, Bill Maertz from the City, Mohammed, Jennifer and Phil from <br />I<1<E were present as guests. <br /> <br />A quorum was established. <br /> <br />Jennifer showed a site plan, some observations were: <br />- Footage available for future expansion if needed. <br />-Move handicap parking closer to bldg. <br />-Book drop separate from bldg., would rather that moved so those books dropped into the <br />workroom. <br /> <br />Went over the Concept Sketch Variation: <br />-Most seating areas on North side of bldg., facing Lake. <br />-If a Coffee Shop is done consecutively it will also need to meet the LEED certification. <br />-There will be a maximum of 24,000 feet of expandable space. <br /> <br />Next meeting I<1<E will bring several variations to the layout. <br /> <br />We discussed flooring options: <br />-Rubber <br />-Cork <br />-Bamboo <br />They will bring samples to the next meeting. <br /> <br />I<1<E asked us "what is Elk River known for". We decided mainly for the River. <br /> <br />May 11 th is our next meeting. <br /> <br />The agenda was adopted, Allison made a motion and Mike seconded to approve the minutes <br />from March. <br /> <br />No correspondence or suggestion box. <br /> <br />Allison moved to accept and Mike seconded to approve Treasurer's Report. <br /> <br />Librarian's Report: <br />The 'Kite Runner" book discussion was a success with about 35-40 people in attendance. <br />The Summer Program theme is "Catch the Beat at your Library." <br />
