<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the EDA to bring this issue back to the August <br />EDA meeting with cost references so that the EDA can determine if the <br />price quoted by Diversified Marketing Resource is a competitive price. <br />The EDA indicated that it would enter into a contract with Diversified <br />Marketing Resources at that time if it is determined that the cost is <br />satisfactory. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Consider Action on Certified Development Company for Sherburne County <br /> <br />Bill Rubin requested that the EDA consider rescinding Resolution 93-2 <br />which requests that the Coon Rapids Development Company extend its <br />service territory to include the corporate limits of Elk River, <br />Minnesota. He stated that at a previous EDA meeting, the EDA was <br />advised that the Coon Rapids Development Company had significantly <br />changed its expansion proposal which necessitated the exploration of <br />other multi-county certified development companies to ascertain a <br />willingness to expand into Sherburne county. He indicated that such a <br />development company had been identified. It is called Twin <br />Cities-Metro Certified Development Company (TC-M CDC). He stated that <br />TC~M CDC gave a presentation to representatives from Wright and <br />Sherburne Counties and that this group collectively decided that it was <br />in the best interest of both counties to request TC-M CDC to expand its <br />service territory to include Wright and Sherburne Counties. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN MOVED TO RESCIND RESOLUTION 93-2, A RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING THAT THE COON RAPIDS DEVELOPMENT COMPANY EXTEND ITS SERVICE <br />TERRITORY TO INCLUDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA. <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DIETZ MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 93-3, A RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING THAT THE TWIN CITIES-METRO CERTIFIED DEVELOPMENT COMPANY <br />EXTEND ITS SERVICE TERRITORY TO INCLUDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ELK <br />RIVER, MINNESOTA. COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />5.a Presentation and Proposal to an Industrial Prospect <br /> <br />Bill Rubin stated that there is an industrial company interested in <br />expanding its operation in the Elk River area. The company has <br />requested that civic leaders make a formal presentation to the Board of <br />Directors. It was the consensus of the EDA that Commissioner Dwyer <br />would attend along with the City Engineer, the Economic Development <br />Coordinator, and possibly, Brian Moran (representing Elk River's <br />industrial sector) and Jim Simpson (representing financial institutions <br />and the Utility Commission). <br /> <br />6. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER DIETZ MOVED TO ADJOURN. <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />
