<br />Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />December 9, 1991 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Discuss 1992 Economic Development Work Pro~ram <br /> <br />Bill Rubin, Economic Development Coordinator, reviewed the proposed <br />1992 work program consisting of marketing, advertising, economic <br />development newsletter, Star City activities, downtown redevelopment, <br />industrial park, Industrial Council and 1992 legislative issues. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kropuenske indicated that he had been approached by some <br />downtown business people regarding the status of the old hardware site <br />(the EDA Main Street site). He indicated that retail business has <br />dropped off since the fire and since the convenience store has moved <br />from the downtown area. Commissioner Kropuenske indicated that he <br />suggested that the downtown retailers form a committee bring requests <br />to the EDA. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER TRALLE MOVED TO ADOPT THE 1992 WORK PROGRAM AS PRESENTED. <br />COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />10. Expiration of Commissioner Dwyer's Term of Office <br /> <br />Bill Rubin stated that Commissioner Dwyer's term will expire on <br />December 31, 1991 and that he has expressed interest in seeking <br />reappointment. His reappointment will take place at the December 16, <br />1991 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Items for January Meetin~ <br /> <br />Bill Rubin indicated that the items to be <br />annual meeting include the election <br />appointments, official newspaper, official <br />director appointment. <br /> <br />discussed at the January <br />of officers, committee <br />depository and executive <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding committee appointments. President <br />Gongoll indicated he would like to contact those members serving on <br />existing committees and request their continued service. <br /> <br />11. City EDA Presentation at the 1/21/92 Chamber Meetin~ <br /> <br />Bill Rubin informed the EDA that the Chamber of Commerce will be <br />holding the State of the City meeting in January and has requested the <br />EDA and City Council to make presentations at the meeting. The EDA <br />discussed topics which could be presented at the meeting. Commissioner <br />Tralle stated that he would make a presentation regarding an overv iew <br />of where the City is going. Commissioner Dwyer indicated he would make <br />a presentation regarding the City brochure, newsletter and marketing <br />items. President Gongoll indicated he would speak about the Central <br />Business District and the Industrial Park. Other topics discussed were <br />the City Hall purchase and what the City has been doing and why. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />12. Prospect Report <br /> <br />Bill Rubin reviewed the Prospect Report which was submitted under <br />separate cover. Bill Rubin also informed the EDA that Tescom has <br />decided to postpone the use of the Industrial Revenue Bonds. <br />
