Economic Development Authority Minutes February 12, 1990 Page 2 COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 90-1, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMENDMENTS TO THE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT #1 AND TO DIRECT COUNCIL TO SUBMIT THE FINAL DRAFT OF THE FINDINGS FOR THE MAYOR'S SIGNATURE. COMMISSIONER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. Commissioner Holmgren indicated that he would be abstaining from the vote as he did not feel the EDA had sufficient time to review the document. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0-2. Commissioner Holmgren and Schuldt abstained. COMMISSIONER DOBEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 90-2, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING PLAN FOR TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT #7, ESTABLISHING TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT #7, AND DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO IMPLEMENT TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT #7. COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 5. Motel Update Rob VanValkenburg and Mike Leary updated the EDA on the progress of the AmericInn Motel. They indicated that construction will begin shortly and that the completion date is scheduled for some time in May. 6. Other Business The Economic Development Coordinator updated the EDA on the progress of Mork Clinic. He indicated that construction would not be taking place until the permanent financing was closed. The Economic Development Coordinator indicated that because of a Star City requirement, staff will be holding a presentation meeting on February 22. The Commission discussed the benefits of being a Star City. After discussion the City Administrator suggested that the City monitor the benefits versus time spent on the Star City status. There being no further business, COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
