Approval of Official Depository <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPOINT THE BANK OF ELK RIVER AS THE 1989 <br />OFFICIAL DEPOSITORY FOR THEEDA. COMMISSIONER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />8. Reports by Various Officers <br /> <br />There were no reports given at this time. <br /> <br />9. Determination of Dates of Meeting during the Remainder of the Calendar <br />Year <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the EDA to continue to meet on an "as needed" <br />basis for the 1989 calendar year. <br /> <br />. 10.1 Consideration of Expanding EDA Membership <br /> <br />Commissioner Tralle stated he would like to see the EDA expand to 7 <br />members in order to have more citizen input and also to have different <br />people on the Commission other than Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the fact that every two years three EDA <br />members will be up for election on the Council and that this could cause <br />difficulty in continuity if three new people are added to the EDA at one <br />time. Commissioner Tralle stated he would like to see two new people <br />appointed with staggered terms that do not expire on election years. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schuldt stated that so far there is only one item before the <br />EDA and that there is not enough business to set specific meeting dates. <br />Thus, Commissioner Schuldt stated he would like to see the EDA remain at <br />5 members. Commissioner Schuldt further indicated that because of the <br />expenditures involved he would like to see the EDA remain as elected <br />officials. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dobel indicated he would like to see the EDA remain as it is <br />for at least one more year and at that time decide whether or not to <br />expand the membership. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kropuenske indicated he felt it might benefit the EDA to <br />have some other expertise on the Commission such as members of the <br />previous Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />The City <br />Commission <br />direction. <br />see how the <br /> <br />Administrator suggested that there are numerous topics the <br />should be discussing and considering in order to give Staff <br />He further suggested that he research other communities to <br />HRAs, EDAs and Port Authorities are comprised. <br />
