The City Council has previously <br />set May 15,2006 as the assessment hearing date. In order to stay on the schedule laid out in the <br />feasibility study, there is an additional action the Council is asked to consider. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The schedule in the feasibility study recommended that the project be authorized for bidding at <br />this point in time. Bids would be opened on Thursday, May 25, 2006 and be available for the City <br />Council meeting on June 5, 2006. This would allow construction to begin shortly after the school <br />year is over. As directed by the City Council, the sanitary sewer and water main improvements <br />will be bid as alternates. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />The feasibility study estimates the total project cost at $1,365,000. Approximately $305,500 is <br />proposed to be assessed to abutting property owners.
