Bergstrom Home Occupation Request <br /> <br />Ann Bergstrom was present for this request to operate a beauty salon in <br />her home. There was discussion on the dOwntO\VTI beauty operators' request <br />for more strict regulation of home operations. Mr. Middaugh stated the <br />beauty operators were to have dra\Vll up some guidelines for the Commissioners, <br />but had not heard from them. Extention of the operating hours for home <br />operations were also discussed. COMMISSIONER BUSCH MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO <br />THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A BEAUTY SHOP <br />IN ANN BERGSTROM'S HOME.COMMISSIONER DRIESSEN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />7. Eggert Home Occupation Request <br /> <br />Mr. Eggert was present for this request. He plans to make kitchen cabinets, <br />gun racks, water bed frames, etc., in his attached garage. His garage is <br />24' x 22' and he plans to have his equipment along the walls of the garage <br />to permit parking space for his two cars. He said he would be delivering <br />most of his work with very few customers coming to his home. Commissioner <br />Driessen explained the limits on a Conditional Use Permit and commented that <br />this operation generates a lot of noise. COMMISSIONER DRIESSEN MOVED TO RE- <br />COMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL ISSUANCE OF A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A HO}m <br />OCCUPATION"OF A CABINET SHOP TO BE REGULATED IN A TI~O YEAR TIME LIMIT. COM- <br />MISSIONER PEARCE SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />8. Zoning Ordinance Language Change <br /> <br />Gene Kreuser presented his preliminary plat and Robert Middaugh explained <br />that the ordinance makes no provision for 0' side yard setback, public access <br />and subdivision of a building put on R-2, R-3, and R-4 lots. He said there <br />will be two language changes Zack Johnson will recommend to the City Council. <br />COMMISSI01~R PEARCE MOVED THAT THE PLA1~ING CO~lliISSION RECOMMEND TO THE CITY <br />COUNCIL THAT THE LANGUAGE OF THE ORDINANCE BE Rm~ITTEN SO THAT TO\{NHOUSES CAN <br />BE BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THE ORDINANCES FOR SETBACK AND PUBLIC ACCESS <br />FOR R-2, R-3, AND R-4 ZONES. COMMISSIONER BUSCH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />9. Kreuser Preliminary Plat <br /> <br />Staff recommended approval of this preliminary plat and everything seemed <br />to be in order. COMMISSIONER BUSCH MOVED TO RECO}illEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL OF THE PRELIMINARY PLAT. COMMISISONER PEARCE SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />The City Administrator stated that this was not advertised for a public hear- <br />ing and suggested the Commissioners set up a special meeting for this. The <br />Commissioners decided to meet on June 8, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />10. Schroeder Conditional Use Permit Request <br /> <br />This request was discussed at length. Rick Breezee researched the square <br />footage requirements. He said the requirements vary depending on what the <br />business is classified as. If classified as a classroom, then he could have <br />as many as 34 students per 672 sq. ft., but if classified as a vocational <br />
