CU 06-04 <br /> <br />Request: Midwest Asphalt Corp is requesting a conditional use permit to continue <br />extraction of sand and gravel from their Elk River facility located at 12168 221 st Ave NW. <br />Midwest Asphalt Corp has been operating under a CUP that was issued in 1981. However, <br />the CUP had an expiration date of 20 years so they have been operating without a CUP for <br />the past five years. 1bis was an oversight by both staff and Midwest Asphalt up until this <br />year. They plan to continue mining to provide aggregate products to be used for unpaved <br />road maintenance, highway base projects, the tn~ king of Hot Mix Asphalt, the making of <br />concrete for various construction projects in the area. The site was included in the City of <br />Elk River's 1994 Enviroiunental Impact Statement (ElS) on Mineral Excavation and the <br />processes and practices will stay consistent with those in the ElS. <br /> <br />Attachments: Below is a list of items included in your packet.
