<br />. <br /> <br />Surface Water Conditions <br />As described in Section 12 of the Annual Storm Water Report Submitted with MPCA for <br />Elk River Site reads. The only water leaving the active mine area is the rainwater that <br />falls on approximately one block of paved road which is swept as needed. <br /> <br />In reference to over flow pipes: To help with erosion, an on site sedimentation pond(s) <br />with overflow pipes or pipes for building roads across drainage ditches are used in the <br />active mining area. The area on the west side of the property, the rainwater falls on to <br />undisturbed woods and meadowland. <br /> <br />Environmental SDill Plan <br />Midwest Asphalt Corporation is under the threshold of being required to have a SPCC <br />plan. A spill prevention plan is described in Section IO of the application. This plan <br />describes fueling, spill prevention and containment. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The site plan in Section 14 of the application shows the location of the fuel tank mounted <br />on a concrete slab next to a storage container where spill prevention equipment is stored. <br />This area is at the entrance to the pit with hard ground and a minimal slope where vehicle <br />maintenance and fueling is done.
