George Ramond and Greg <br />the organization and development of the arts in <br /> <br />Cliff requested that we recognize the Elk River Community Theater as <br />the official arts group in Elk River. This endorsement is necessary <br />to complete an application for matching funds through the Regional <br />Arts Council to the NEA. Cliff intends to address the City Council <br />on June 19th. to get monetary support for this association. <br /> <br />After some discussion. the Elk River Park and Recreation Commission <br />expressed their support for the formation of this association and <br />commended their efforts to develop the arts in the Elk River areas. <br /> <br />CLETE LIPETZKY MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />DESIGNATE THE ELK RIVER COMMUNITY THEATER AS THE OFFICIAL ARTS <br />ORGANIZATION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER. BARB NORTHWAY SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Review Master Park Plan Proposals <br /> <br />This discussion was limited to extending invitations to all four <br />companies who replied to our request including Dahlgren. Shardlow and <br />Uban. Inc. who did not submit a proposal. to be interviewed at 7:30. <br />8:00. 8:30 and 9:00 respectively on June 12. 1989. at Elk River City Hall <br />Conference Room. <br /> <br />6. Staff Update <br /> <br />Phil Hals...Phil indicated <br />ordered as well as grills <br />indentified. Also discussed <br />bulldozer which would serve <br />abandoned railway. <br /> <br />that <br />and <br />were <br />well <br /> <br />the boat dock for Lake Orono had been <br />toy backhoes for the parks previously <br />possible plans to purchase a small <br />for trail work especially on the <br /> <br />Charlie Blesener...Charlie said the Summer Recreation programs should be <br />strong this year. Charlie and Dave Anderson will continue to work on <br />plans for a new warming house in the Handke stadium. <br /> <br />7 . <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Dave Anderson reported that the Softball Association had received no <br />further complaints from homeowners regarding softball lighting. Most <br />games are finishing close to 10:30 p.m. with an occasional single game <br />finishing as late as 10:50 p.m. <br />
