This equipment will support Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) response efforts and
continue to serve daily street and park maintenance operations.

Financial Impact
The purchase price of the Vermeer BC1500 chipper is $90,186.00. The preliminary CIP included a
placeholder budget of $90,000, reflecting earlier estimates before updated pricing and current market
conditions. The existing unit will be sent to public auction, with proceeds returned to the Equipment
Replacement Fund. This purchase will be funded through the 2026 Equipment Replacement Fund and is based
on pricing from MnDOT Contract 281167 C-796(5).

Mission/Policy/Goal
Responsible for every dollar—good stewards

Attachments
1.
