Holiday Leave <br />Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive pay for the following holidays: <br />■ New Year's Day <br />■ Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br />■ Presidents Day <br />■ Memorial Day <br />■ Juneteenth <br />■ Independence Day <br />■ Labor Day <br />■ Veterans Day <br />■ Thanksgiving Day <br />■ Friday after Thanksgiving <br />■ Christmas Eve <br />■ Christmas Day <br />Regular�FPart-time employees will receive paid holidays on the same basis as regular, full- <br />time employees, except that holiday pay will be pro -rated according to the number of <br />hours worked. To be eligible, part-time employees must work a set schedule with a <br />minimum of forty (40) hours per biweekly pay period. <br />Most temporary and seasonal employees are not eligible for holiday pay. <br />For e€mployees working a Monday through Friday workweek, holidays occurring on <br />Saturday are observed the preceding Friday and holidays occurring on Sunday are <br />observed on the following Monday. <br />When a holiday falls during an employee's vacation or sick leave, the employee will not be <br />charged with vacation or sick leave for the holiday hours; the hours will be considered <br />holiday leave. <br />Although the city prefers that employees enjoy the observed holidays, emergencies may <br />arise. If a non-exempt employee is required by his/her supervisor to work on an actual <br />holiday, the hours worked (in addition to holiday pay) shall be paid as follows: <br />1. Regular non-exempt full-time and regular non-exempt part-time employees <br />(excluding employees to which #2 below applies) scheduled for or called in to work <br />on the actual holidays listed above shall receive one and one-half the employee's <br />regular rate of pay in addition to the holiday pay. <br />2. Holiday benefit -earning liquor store and FT Center employees (excluding senior <br />activity center employees) will be given a bank of holidays (8 hours for each <br />recognized holiday) to use throughout the year.
