set schedule with a minimum of forty (40) hours per biweekly pay period. <br />For all non -regular employees, ESST is earned at the rate of one hour for every 30 hours <br />worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours earned per calendar year with a maximum bank <br />balance of 80 hours. <br />The hourly rate of ESST is the same hourly rate an employee earns from employment with <br />the city. <br />Employees eligible for Sick Leave as defined On the seEtion above will have a portion of that <br />SiEk leave designated as ESST. Employees not eligible for SiEl( Leave as defined On the <br />seEtion above who work for the Eity at least 80 hours On a Ealendar year will aEErue ESST at <br />the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours ESST may begin accruing at the beginning of <br />the calendaF employment although employees may not use ESST until they have <br />worked 80 hours On . Unused ESST is not paid out at the end of employment <br />except as provided under Severance Pay above. <br />After the employee has worked 80 hours On the calendar year, ESST may be used as it is <br />accrued in the smallest increment of time for which <br />employees are paid. For employees recording work hours on a timesheet, ESST may be <br />used in 15 minute increments. For emolovees bunching in and out on a kiosk. ESST may be <br />used for the time lost in your scheduled shift. <br />-An employee may use accrued ESST for the following reasons: <br />■ an employee's: <br />o mental or physical illness, injury, or other health condition; <br />o need for medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical <br />illness, injury, or health condition; <br />o need for preventive medical or health care; or <br />o need to make arrangements for or attend funeral services or a memorial. or <br />address financial or legal matters that arise after the death of a familv <br />member: <br />■ care of a family member: <br />o with a mental or physical illness, injury, or other health condition; <br />o who needs medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical <br />illness, injury, or other health condition; or <br />o who needs preventive medical or health care; <br />absence due to domestic abuse, sexual assault, or stalking of the employee or <br />Page 25187 <br />Page 92 of 447 <br />
