Depending on the firefighter's performance, the
program takes approximately one year.
Firefighters work with department chiefs and officers to complete the task book, while continuing their
regularly required training and duties as firefighters. After the program, firefighters can pursue a formal
leadership role in the department. Gordon Myette completed this program and, after being interviewed by a
panel of three chiefs and a captain, was offered the position of lieutenant with the department.
Financial Impact
N/A
Mission/Policy/Goal
Community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity.
Attachments
Oath of Office (Lieutenant) 2025
The Elk River Vision
A avelcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exc ptional service, and community p p W E H E U 6
engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity
447
