discretion to call 911, and as soon as feasible, a supervisor. Employees should leave the
<br />area immediately when violence is imminent unless their duties require them to remain
<br />(such as police officers). Employees must notify their supervisor about the incident as soon
<br />as possible.
<br />Definitions of Sexual and Other Forms of Harassment
<br />Harassment consists of unwelcome conduct based on a person's race (including traits
<br />associated with race, including, but not limited to, hair texture and hair styles such as
<br />braids, locs and twists), color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation,
<br />gender, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, familial status,
<br />pregnancy, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other protected
<br />class status that is interfering with your job performance; or creating an intimidating,
<br />hostile, or offensive work environment; or when submission to such conduct is explicitly or
<br />implicitly:
<br />• a term or condition of employment; or
<br />■ a basis for an employment decision affecting your job; or
<br />■ has the purpose or result of unreasonably interfering with your work performance
<br />or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.
<br />The city prohibits harassment in any form, including verbal, physical, and visual
<br />harassment.

<br />sexually motivated physical contact or other verbal or physical conduct or communication
<br />of a sexual nature that is interfering with your job performance; or creating an
<br />intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment; or when submission to such conduct

<br />■ a term or condition of employment; or
<br />■ a basis for an employment decision affecting your job; or
<br />■ has the purpose or result or unreasonably interfering with your work performance
<br />or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.

<br />Some examples of conduct that may be sexual harassment under this policy include:
<br />■ Use of offensive or demeaning terms which have sexual connotations.
<br />■ Telling suggestive jokes or stories and conversations about sexual exploits, sexual
<br />preferences, and desires.
<br />■ Posting jokes, cartoons, pictures, objects, or stories which have a sexual content.
<br />■ Threats, demands or suggestions that an employee's work status, advancement, or
<br />other terms and conditions of employment are contingent upon the employee's
