ERMU shall require all new development construction to meet City of Elk River <br />Engineering Design Standards. design to have looped water mains; consistent with city <br />ordinance, side lot easements shall be required as needed. <br /> <br />2. Establish metering policy and procedures which address, but are not limited to the following: <br />a. Customers shall be allowed one service entrance and one meter to measure water usage, <br />unless otherwise approved by the General Manager. <br />b. All equipment and materials required for metering shall be owned and maintained by <br />ERMU. The customer shall be subject to all metering equipment costs as identified in the <br />Commission adopted Fee Schedule. <br />c. The customer shall own and be responsible for the entire water service line. The service <br />line shall include the piping extending from the water main in the street, including the <br />corporation cock, to the meter within the building. The service line shall meet ERMU <br />standards. <br /> <br />3. Establish policy regarding the redistribution of water consistent with the following: <br />a. All water sold by ERMU is to be used by the customer for the purposes designated or <br />implied in the Rate Schedule applicable to their installation. Water so sold may not be <br />resold or redistributed to other metered users unless specifically approved by the General <br />Manager. <br /> <br />4. Establish policy and procedures for customer disputes: <br />a. Consistent with the Dispute Resolution Committee Charter Policy, provide an option for <br />a customer appeal process through the Dispute Resolution Committee for customer issues <br />where resolution requires action not authorized or delegated to management. <br /> <br /> <br />POLICY HISTORY: <br /> <br />Adopted May 12, 2020 <br /> <br />44
