UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />ERMU CommissionMike Tietz – Technical Services Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />September 9, 2025 6.1g <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• In August, the locators processed 517 locate tickets. These consisted of 406 normal <br />tickets, 9 emergency tickets, 76 updated tickets, 12 meetings, 4 planning, 2 boundary <br />surveys, and 8 cancellations. This resulted in a 6.7% decrease in tickets from the <br />previous month and a 17.8% increase from the prior August. <br />• In August, the electrical technicians completed968 service order tasks, updated the <br />power bill, addressed customer meter issues and any off-peak concerns. <br />• The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) residential water meters and residential <br />electric meters continue to be installed in new services. The electrical technicians have <br />been busy changing our previous Automated Meter Reading meters to AMI for small <br />non-demand commercial customers. We did receive some of our returned merchandise <br />authorization/warranty meters back from Sensus. We have approximately 5,646 (99%) <br />water meters and 13,115 (93%) electric meters that are installed within the system and <br />our overall AMI project is approximately 95% completed. <br />• The East substation concrete foundation installation work should be getting underway <br />about the middle of September. The fencing contractor has finished the initial fence <br />installation and will return to complete the remaining fence work after the foundations <br />have been poured. Conduit and ground grid installation will take place in November, <br />with assemblyof the structures being built late winter by ERMU staff. The prefabricated <br />control building has been completed ahead of schedule, and we are looking at a <br />November 2025 delivery. Commissioningof the substation should be completed by <br />September 1, 2026. <br />• Our monthly peak was 66.24 MW on August 7, at 4:04pm. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />110 <br />
