Figure 10 shows the parks and open space near the project <br />area within the City limits. Several parks within approximately one mile are listed below: <br /> Plants and Things Recreational Complex (Sherburne County) <br /> School Knoll Park (Wright County) <br /> Carrick’s Landing Park (Wright County) <br /> Point Park (Wright County) <br /> Northwood Park (Wright County) <br /> <br />Cemeteries <br />There are no cemeteries present within one mile of the project area. <br /> <br />Trails <br />The City of Elk River’s Trail Master Plan (dated March 19th, 2018) shows a proposed <br />‘Mississippi River Trail’ within the western portion of the project area (12). Several conceptual <br />connections are shown: one to the north near Yale Street NW, one from U.S. Highway 10, and <br />another to the south. A proposed trail along U.S. Highway 10 is also shown. An existing trail is <br />shown along Twin Lakes Road NW. Currently, no trails are located within the site boundaries. <br /> <br />Prime/Unique Farmland <br />The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO) identified <br />10% of the site as prime farmland and the remaining 90% as not prime farmland (Figure 21) <br />(13). <br /> <br />ii) Plans. Describe planned land use as identified in comprehensive plan (if available) <br />and any other applicable plan for land use, water, or resources management by a <br />local, regional, state, or federal agency. <br /> <br />Elk River Comprehensive Plan (adopted October 18th, 2021) <br />Page 16 of the comprehensive plan shows the existing land use as ‘agriculture.’ The land use was <br />based on field reconnaissance and research conducted in August 2020 (5). <br /> <br />Sherburne County 2040 Comprehensive Plan (dated November 2023) <br />The City is responsible for land use within the City limits (15). <br /> <br />Natural Resources <br />The MnDNR shows the project area within a Metro Conservation Corridor (Figure 11). These <br />corridors were identified by conservation organizations due to their ecological importance
