February 14, 2025 HGTS Project Number: 25-0035

Mr. Matt Barker
Capstone Homes
14015 Sunfish Lake Boulevard, Suite 400
Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Geotechnical Exploration Report, Proposed Residential Development, Specht
Farms, Elk River, Minnesota

Dear Mr. Barker:

We have completed the geotechnical exploration report for the proposed residential
development in Elk River, Minnesota. A brief summary of our results and recommendations
is presented below. Specific details regarding our procedures, results and recommendations
follow in the attached geotechnical exploration report.

Fifteen (15) soil borings were completed for this project that encountered about 1 to 4 ½ feet
of topsoil underlain by native sandy soils that extended to the termination depths of the
borings. Groundwater was encountered in 5 of the soil borings at depths ranging from about
12 ½ to 55 feet below the ground surface.

The vegetation and topsoil are not suitable for building, roadway or utility support and will
need to be removed and replaced, as needed, with suitable compacted engineered fill. It is
our opinion that the underlying native soils are suitable for foundation support.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you on this project. If you have any questions or need
additional information, please contact Paul Gionfriddo at 612-729-2959.

Sincerely,

Haugo GeoTechnical Services

Paul Gionfriddo, P.E.
Senior Engineer
