This property
has been reclad with wood siding and a modern display window.
Significance
This building has no historic integrity, although it is possible that a good amount of the
original fagade survives behind the modernizations. The historic building under the
fagade alterations was built in 1911, after a fire that destroyed this section of the
block. The Elk River Post Office was among the tenants. The brick storefronts each
had a single entry with a display window surmounted by a glazed transom. The flat
roof of the block had a simple parapet with a corbelled cornice.
