The proposed historic contexts study and downtown survey will provide <br />the city with comprehensive information about the history and significance of its <br />resources. <br />Historic Contexts <br />The proposed study will develop historic contexts for Elk River, providing a <br />comprehensive narrative and analysis of the development of the city from settlement to <br />the Ptv&E-.,lt. The contexts will describe Elk River's relationship to early Sherburne <br />County and the Mississippi ]liver, and its rural, suburban, and urban landscapes. It will <br />also analyze the. development of agriculture, commercial, and residential development. <br />Downtown Survey <br />The study will also conduct a limited Phase I survey of the downtown area. The final <br />details of the scope of this survey will be discussed with City staff before the project <br />commences. <br />nits project will be conducted within the Guideli-nes for Pre-seruatforc Planrr.ir�g established <br />by the Secretary of the. It will be supplied in hard copy and on disk. Landscape Research will provide a <br />quantity of reports for immediate use, with additiorad printing to be determined by the <br />client.
