Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, April 24, 2006 <br />1:15 pm Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Lois Swanson, Millie Miller, Mary Heck, Millicent Busch, Gail Johnson, <br />June Fenstra, Charlotte Strei, Rita Waxon, Linda Hjelmstad ,Annette Bonin and Sue <br />Kostanshek, <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 1:15 pm. Minutes reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — Funds will be taken out for furniture <br />III. Old Business <br />A. April Main Event — Volunteer Party is Thursday, April 27th <br />Staff plans this event. <br />B. Review of April Events — Book Discussion, Travel Series, <br />Safety lst, Bridge Party, "Preventing Scams" <br />C. Silvertones Report — May 15th performance at Pine Tree Manor <br />June 18`h sing at Union Church. <br />D. Community Ed. Report — Jay not here to report <br />E. May Main Event — Senior Center Week is May 15-20. <br />Activities planned every day that week: Monday; "Drag n <br />Brag" Antique Show, Tuesday; Steve Dittbrenner, Wed; <br />YMCA, Thursday; Mainstream Fashion Show, Friday; Raptor <br />Center, Saturday; "Hot Potato Party". May 315t is Older <br />Americans Month party at Vintage Grill. <br />F. Other — "Write your own story" sessions in May and June <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — RSVP Party on May 241h, June 17d' <br />Sherburne County -Sesquicentennial celebration planned. <br />B. Outings —4/29 Bethel College Commodores, 5/25 Ole and Lena <br />at Sand Hill, New York trip in Sept. State Fair in August <br />C. June Main Event — none planned, Boys and Girls Club summer <br />program begins. <br />D. Other — none. <br />V. Next Council Meeting — Monday, May 22nd at 1 pm <br />VI.
