Senior Center Advisory Council <br />Monday, May 22, 2006 <br />1:15 pm Senior Center 350 Evans <br />Present were: Lois Swanson, Mary Heck, Millicent Busch, Gail Johnson, June Fenstra, <br />Charlotte Strei, Holly VanderVelden, Linda Hjelmstad , Annette Bonin and Sue <br />Kostanshek, <br />I. Sue called the meeting to order at 1 pm. Minutes reviewed. <br />II. Financial statement — Funds will be taken out for furniture. <br />III. Old Business <br />A. May Main Event — Senior Center Week and Older American <br />Month at Vintage Grill. Register for Vintage Grill is better than <br />last year, but still low. May not do this event next year. <br />B. Review of May Events — Senior Center week activities went <br />well. All that attended Raptor Center, Antique Show and <br />Fashion Show enjoyed them. Hot Potato Party Sat. 5/20, <br />fundraiser for GA Housing, 70 people attended. Telephone <br />equipment program will be on 5/25 <br />C. Silvertones Report — June 186 sing at Union Church. June 26 at <br />GACC, parry at Hecks' to follow. July and August off. <br />D. Community Ed. Report — Jay not here to report <br />E. June Main Event — No main event, as Boys and Girls program <br />is scheduled for nine weeks on Mondays during the summer. <br />F. Other — "Write your own story" session June 5th <br />IV. New Business <br />A. Other Events in the Area — June 17th Sherburne County - <br />Sesquicentennial celebration planned. June 28th is the Sherburne <br />County Senior picnic. Fathers Day party at dining site on 6/16. <br />B. Outings —Amish tour on June 28th. Boat trip on August 3rd. State <br />Fair on August 31. MN History Center and Public Library on Sept. <br />12th. New York trip September 10-18. <br />C. July Main Event — Senior Center will possibly co-sponsor a <br />Garden Party with Senior Dining. <br />D. Other — none. <br />V. Next Council Meeting — Monday, June 19th at 10 am <br />VI. Newsletter — Being printed. <br />VII Adjourn- <br />
